I retired at 82 from 18 plus years of being an active Patent Practitioner registered with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.   I have a B.S. degree in Physics from Principia College and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Science and Engineering in Aeronautics and Astronautics from Stanford University.   In addition, I have a Certificate in General Management from The University of Santa Clara's Graduate School of Business and Administration and a Certificate in Telecommunications Engineering and Technology from The University of California - Berkeley.   And in California, I was a licensed Professional Engineer - Electrical.

And I have had over 59 years of engineering and intellectual property experience within Silicon Valley.   As an experienced engineer and inventor with a deep technical knowledge in many fields, I have a great advantage for identifying what an inventor should claim within his/her patent application to obtain the broadest allowable patent protection.   I have worked for both small and large companies, the Air Force, and NASA.   I have worked for three start-up companies.   I have worked 20 years for the Hewlett-Packard Co. at their HP-Labs.   My experience is in research, invention, product development, intellectual property creation and strategy formation, patent applications, prior-art searches, right-to-use searches, creativity mentoring, and creativity training.

My fields of technical experience and expertise include optics, photonics, imaging, printing, sensors, electronics, telecommunications, radio, mechanics, aeronautics, astronautics, operations research, modeling, simulation, industrial engineering, processing, integrated circuit manufacturing, computer control, statistical control, and software.   I have developed products for such markets as consumer, education, communication, metrology, manufacturing, aerospace, defense, construction, farming, processing, research, and business.
